Professor Pierre Pires
STORY/CAREER TIMELINE
Pierre Pires is a black belt athlete and professor. He’s started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 - Sao Paulo, Brazil. Since then he has been passionate about the gentle art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After just 3 months of training, he went on to compete his first tournament and achieved his first gold medal. He understood there was not only learning the discipline but applying the techniques in competition. He was awarded a blue belt in 2013, later becoming the #1 blue belt in the Global ranking on his weight division.
As a blue belt, Pierre started teaching as an assistant instructor at Soul Fighters Chicago. He was awarded his purple belt in 2016. Now competing at a higher level, he won the IBJJF American National Championship, his first major tournament. As a purple belt, Pierre achieved: 2nd place at World Championship, a 2nd American National title, 5 Chicago Open championship titles, and many other regional titles. At this point he started teaching as a main instructor at the academy.
